The 4th generation of GEN 4.0 multimedia devices (radios, head units) were installed in Kia and Hyundai cars in 2016 – 2017. The GEN 4.0 platform uses OS Android 2.3 and has 7″ or 8″ screens.
From the end of 2019 car manufacturers began to install radios of the other generations: GEN 5.0, Gen5W as well as GEN 1.0 in 2010 – 2015 and GEN 2.0 in 2015 – 2016.
How To Find Out GEN 4.0 Software Version
- Turn on the multimedia device.
- Press once the Setup button on the front panel and scroll to the bottom of the list. The System Information button will appear, click it. The System Information or System Information or Version Information or General Settings window will open (depending on a device model).
- The Software Version is shown in the line “SW Version” or “S/W Ver.” or “System S/W”. For example, ST.VF.EUR.E492.151102.
- Determine a type of your GEN 4.0 radio device by the software version:
- ST.xx.EUR.xxxx.xxxxxx
The GEN 4.0 radio (IAH8434UMNG, OS Android 2.3) is installed.
For example, ST.HM.EUR.E530.170925.
Note: These multimedia devices are not the subject of this project (the OS Android 2.3 is not supported and cannot be upgraded).

GEN 4.0 Customware
Unfortunately, Menaco does not support the GEN 4.0 multimedia devices.
The fact is that OS Android 2.3 is installed in GEN 4.0 devices, and the device microprocessor does not allow upgrading the operating system.
Since 2018, the manufacturers of Google and Yandex applications have stopped supporting devices with Android below version 3.0 (they disabled the ability to download maps and build routes). Navitel also does not support this version of Android 2.3. Only Navitel 9.8 can be installed on this version, which supports old maps only, not later than Q2 2018.
In case of GEN 4.0 muldimedia the best option would be to use mirroring of the smartphone screen on the device screen. This can be done via Android Auto for Android or CarPlay for iPhone. Find solutions on the Internet.
