Navigation Systems

Different free navigation systems (navigation applications) can be installed with Menaco Customware, depending on the multimedia device. Each supported device has its own set of navigation applications.

Menaco add-on firmware allows you to install detailed roadmaps for several alternative navigation systems:

  • Navitel Navigator (offline)
  • Google Maps (online)
  • Maps.Me (offline)
  • iGO (offline)
  • Yandex.Navigator (online)
  • Yandex.Maps (online)
  • 2Gis (offline)
  • Seven Ways (offline) (CIS countries mainly)

Navigation Maps

  1. Each navigation system comes with its own detailed GPS navigation maps.
  2. Maps are supplied with Menaco Customware. Map download links will be provided with Customware after ordering Menaco. Maps (map packages) will be provided for all navigation systems included in Menaco add-on firmware.
  3. Original or open street maps (OSM) can be provided.
  4. Maps updates are free of charge in accordance with the terms of Menaco Warranty Service.
  5. Navigation maps are stored in USB Stick (or MicroSD card) (MediaNav, MediaNav Evolution, GEN1, GEN5) or on SD Card (GEN2, GEN5).
  6. Some of the navigation applications are offline services (like Navitel Navigator), some ones are online services (like Google Maps).
    Online services provide up to date maps, but they require a multimedia device to be connected to the Internet.
    Offline services have different maps. These services do not require the Internet. We provide the latest (newest) maps for Navitel Navigator (along with an activation key for Navitel Navigator).

    • Baltic package: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia.

Safety Regulations

  • Adjust the navigation settings before driving.
  • Enter the driving route before driving.
  • Change the route only after stopping the car, if it becomes necessary to change the route while driving.
  • Try not to be distracted by the screen of the multimedia device while driving, listen to the voice guidance of the navigation system.
  • For safety reasons and to avoid property damage, be sure to follow the device operation precautions indicated by the manufacturer or the car dealer.
  • Remember driving safety!

Navitel Navigator Main Functions

Navitel Navigator application is available for multimedia devices running WinCE: MediaNav, MediaNav Evolution, MediaNav Linux, GEN1, GEN2, as well as Android: GEN5.

  • The program is designed for Windows CE, Android, iPhone / iPad, etc.
  • Offline navigation. Navitel can work offline (does not require a connection to the global Internet).
  • Detailed navigation maps worldwide. A wide selection of maps of Europe, Russia, Asia (detailed maps of 64 countries of the world).
  • Voice guidance. The route of movement is guided by voice prompts.
  • Multilingual interface. The interface and voice prompts are supported in many languages.
  • Online service Navitel. Traffic jams. With the help of Menaco Internet (extended and maximum configuration of Menaco) multimedia device can be connected to the Internet to use the function of “traffic jams online”.
  • Online service Navitel Weather. Information about the weather anywhere in the world for three days in advance (if the radio is connected to the Internet).
  • SpeedCam service. Warnings about radars, video cameras and speed bumps (if the radio is connected to the Internet).
  • 3D cartography. Map display is supported in 2D and 3D modes. In 3D mode, the texture and height of buildings are displayed.

Google Maps Main Functions

Google Maps application is available for multimedia devices running Android 4.2: GEN5.

Yandex.Navigator Main Functions

Yandex.Navigator application is available for multimedia devices running Android: GEN5.

  • Online navigation.
  • Search for the desired place or organization on the map. Search by geographical objects (addresses, streets, cities, regions and countries), by organizations, by points of interest (Food, Shopping, Entertainment, Hotels, Health, Public services, etc.) is available.
  • Support for Russian and English.
  • Search for an alternative option in case of an accident and repair work on the road.
  • Building a route by the name of the destination (for example, the name of the store).
  • Voice command function. A distinctive feature of the application is the built-in voice control function. The program will plot the best route to your destination, and voice guidance will facilitate orientation. During the trip, the Navigator prompts the maneuvers by voice and shows them on the screen. In addition, you can always see how much is left to go – in minutes and kilometers.
  • 3D view of the map.
  • Alert about speed limits, and, if necessary, accompanied by sound signals.
  • Automatically adjusts the map scale when the vehicle speed changes.
  • Calculation of the distance to the object and the approximate travel time.
  • When connected to the Internet, Navigator takes into account traffic jams and traffic events. For a number of cities, the Yandex.Traffic jams service is available (Yandex web service that allows you to find out information about traffic jams). The navigator makes routes taking into account traffic jams, accidents and repairs. It offers up to three travel options and calculates travel times for each. If the route passes through a paid section, the application will warn about this.

Yandex.Maps application is available for multimedia devices running Android: GEN5.

  • Online navigation.
  • Displays maps of major cities and satellite images of the whole world.
  • Search for the desired place or organization on the map. Search by geographical objects (addresses, streets, cities, regions and countries), by organizations, by points of interest (Food, Shopping, Entertainment, Hotels, Health, Public services, etc.) is available.
  • View information about a cartographic object.
  • Building a route of movement. For some cities Yandex.Maps began showing house entrances and entrances to organizations. The entrances are marked on the map with numbers, they can be seen on the largest scale. To find the entrance to an organization, just click on its tag or enter the name into the search, and a red arrow will appear on the map.
  • Getting information about traffic jams. For a number of cities, the Yandex.Traffic jams service is available (Yandex web service that allows you to find out information about traffic jams). The congestion level is determined by a ten-point digital scale and a four-color graphic, information is collected from traffic cameras. The readings of this service can be taken into account for automatic routing.

Seven Ways (7 Ways) application is available for multimedia devices running WinCE: MediaNav, MediaNav Evolution, GEN1, GEN2, as well as Android: GEN5.
